Footy tour hits
THE Full-On Footy Tour visited the
Kilcunda-Bass Football Netball Club
for an afternoon and night of footy ac-
tion at the Bass Recreation Reserve on

“Over the years it’s been
about all the good people you
meet and all the volunteers,
and all the wise heads over
the years who’ve helped build
these clubrooms, which has
been a great asset for the footy
“There’ve been a lot of hard
workers, you make friends
and it’s all good fun. You only
get out of it what you put into
Dave has seen some good
years and bad years at the club
over 60 years.
“One of my highlights per-
sonally was seeing these
rooms being built, and the era
with Terry Tate when we won
a premiership in ‘69 and I
played in that,” he said.
“We’ve had some good play-
ers come here and the three

Table tennis season underway for 2017

Three Wonthaggi Association players com-
peted in Championships in Victoria and Tas-
mania over the past few days.
Twelve-year-old Jack Donohue’s team from
Newhaven College had good wins at MSAC in
a School Table Tennis Championship event.
Zach Anstey won Division Two at the Bal-
larat Senior/Junior Table Tennis Champion-
ships on Saturday, and played at the top of
his game in the Under 21 Singles and the
Open Singles events.
Dirk Holwerda won the Restricted Singles
and Doubles events in the NW Tasmanian
Table Tennis Championships last week.
Over the long weekend (March 11, 12 and
13), Wonthaggi players will be competing
in Junior, Senior and Veteran events at the
