Wednesday February 22 was Ladies Invitation
Day with 14 teams participating, including Yin-
nar and Yarram from outside the area.
Sponsors were Meeniyan IGA and life mem-
ber Evelyn Thorson.
Winners were Sharon Brown’s team (Tarwin
Lower) with Carol Thorn’s team (San Remo)
Ditch to ditch went to Mavis Cridge (Tarwin
Lower) and Nellie Jacobs (Foster).
Lucky Door Prize – Margaret Flett (Inverloch).
Raffle – Marie Kerr (Fish Creek), Travelling
Jack vouchers to Judy Lavada (Fish Creek)
and Irene Hill (Meeniyan).
The two remaining Men’s event have concluded.
Hundred up went to Bruce Lelliot with Chris
Kelly runner-up, both new bowlers.
President’s handicap went to Peter Williams
with Bruce Lelliot runner-up.
This concludes the summer season as work
is to commence on the new green this week.
Concreting and alterations to shelters will be
overseen by Alan Hanks and a team of volun-
teers. Upshot 2.
Mixed results on Saturday with the Division
5 team capping off a great year by collecting the
SGBD premiership flag.
Unfortunately the Division Two side could
not deliver the daily double, when it once again
failed on Grand Final day going down to more
consistent Fish Creek combination.
Congratulations to Division 5, who are now
Division 4 squad.
Special mention once again to the side of
Andy Dennis, Carol Thorn, Jill Waters and Jill
Naylor which had another huge win on the day,
thus winning the day and the flag.
Well done to the other eight in the team, Hilly,
Simon Waters, Geoff Setford, Rick Spargo, Jac-
qui Cohen, Jacko, Cliffy Pulling and Frankie
Truscott for their performances on the day.
Also to those who helped them during the
year including Graham Mendola and Peter
Post-match celebrations were held at the club
with delicious pizzas from the local pizza shop and
a few quiet drinks.
Thanks to all those who played for the club in
pennant during the year.
Four out of five sides in the finals and one
premiership was a pretty good effort from a
small club. Thanks to the selection commit-
tees, team managers, treasurers and everyone
else who played their part.
Pre-season training for next year – Saturday
Division 2 starts next Friday 3pm.
As for the rest, have a nice break.
Great turnout again for Coleman’s Corporate
Winners in the penultimate week were The
Bobbies – Rod Olds, Julian Wildenberg, Kaylee
Suiggs and Bruce Kent.
San Remo Triples
Full rinks for the San Remo IGA Triples with
the Wonthaggi side of Frank Cimino, Stan Noad
and Glenn Birt winning the day.
Runners-up were Rob Jeffrey, Greg Stuart
and Jacko from San Remo.

for $15, last one for the summer season.
Vale Mavis Parks – a well-known Inverloch
bowls identity and mum of Robyn Dennis
passed away quietly last week. Deepest sympa-
thy to Robyn and family.
Last Tuesday February 21 was a beautiful day
for the Grand Final at Korumburra, but unfor-
tunately Tarwin Lower’s Division 2 was beaten
by Port Welshpool.
Thank you to the spectators who encouraged
the team and later joined us back at the club-
rooms to celebrate their achievement of reach-
ing the Grand Final.
Thank you also to Korumburra for hosting
the final and providing lunch for the players.
The following day was Wednesday Triples at
Tarwin and it was observed by some that a few
of the stars of the previous day were not playing
to their full potential!
Good to see that we are all human.
The winning team was Tarwin’s Steve Gra-
ham, Tommy Hamdorf and one of our club’s
newest players, Colin Mansfield.
Intra club games are still in progress and we

The club went into last week with high hopes
that Division 4 could bring home a flag for the
2016-17 pennant season.

the Monthly Open Triples.
