Wonthaggi Community Garden
LAST week’s garden harvest included two
savoy cabbages, four bunches of large white
onions, about four kilos of broad beans, five
mixed lettuces, two bunches of Tuscan kale and
silver beet, coriander, chives and dill.
That would cost around $50 if bought from
the local supermarket.

APPLIED Suicide Intervention Skills Training
(ASIST) is a two-day workshop that prepares
professionals, volunteers, and informal helpers
of all kinds to provide suicide first-aid interven-
tions to people at risk of suicide.
• Identify situations in which someone may
have thoughts of suicide
• Understand how your beliefs and attitudes
can affect suicide interventions
• Review a person’s current risk of suicide and
develop a plan to increase safety from suicidal
behaviour for an agreed period of time
• Follow-up on safety commitments and ac-
cess further support as needed
Participation in the full two days is required.
The workshop includes lectures, videos, group
discussions, group work and skills practise.
Lifeline Gippsland is running an ASIST Work-
shop on November 20 and 21 at Gippsland
Southern Health Service, 66 Koonwarra Road,
