On Saturday April 8 the club held the
‘Wonthaggi Club’ day.

Teams attending were a mixture of local
business, local teams and several sides from
the Port Melbourne club who had made their
yearly trip away.
The prizes on the day were awarded to
teams for Best Game overall, Ken Webb, Fred
Kellow and Garry Clarkson, third place Rae
Haines, Rob Allan and Denis Stanes.
Runners-up were Vic Piasente, Roy Smith
and Rod Beech.
The winners on the day were Neville Sweet,
Frank Cimino and Scott Morison.
The club will hold its Presentation Dinner
on April 28.
The Presidents Day competition will be
held the following day.
Uniform to be worn, start time is 1pm.
The AGM will be held at the Club on May
10 at 7pm.

Gippsland Bowls Divisions played off in
the annual Olney cup at korumburra Bowl-
ing club on Wednesday, April 4, with South
Gippsland winning convincingly. Above,

off to New Zealand

THREE Wonthaggi Table Tennis Asso -
ciation players are competing in the New
Zealand Veteran Championships at Christ-
church from April 15 to 17.
They are Mick Wright, Averil Roberts and
Michael Ede. Wonthaggi Table Tennis Asso -
ciation wishes them all the best.
Wonthaggi association junior players Jack
Duff, Beau Dobbins and Jack Donohue are
competing in the Dandenong Junior Open
Tournament on Easter Saturday.
Jack and Beau will also compete in the Al-
bury/Wodonga Junior Open Tournament on
Saturday, April 29.
There has been no A Reserve or B Grade
matches played over the school holidays. No
Access for All Abilities Program this week.
The Table Tennis Centre will be open for
practice on Thursday, April 13 from 11am to
12.30pm, all are welcome.
A Grade player Dirk Holwerda is available
on the day for coaching.
A Grade resumes on Wednesday, April 19.
Junior coaching and B Grade resumes on
Thursday, April 20, and A Reserve on Mon-
day, April 24.
