The position of Latrobe Valley Investment and Trade Manager forms
a part of the Regional Development Victoria division within the
Employment, Investment and Trade group.
The Victorian Government has allocated $40 million for the Latrobe
Valley Economic Development Program (LVEDP). The LVEDP is a
place based initiative to specifically target the needs of the region and
intensify government’s efforts to support its economic diversification,
growth and resilience.
The program forms part of an ongoing investment facilitation
approach with a strong emphasis on growing existing and future
industries, leveraging the Latrobe Valley’s competitive strengths and
focusing on potential high growth sectors such as food and fibre,
defence or health services. The program will also focus on ensuring
skills development meets future industries workforce requirements.
Reporting to the Manager Investment and Trade, Gippsland and
working collaboratively with the Latrobe Valley Authority, this position
is responsible for managing a small highly skilled Latrobe Valley
Investment and Trade team.
With a track record in industry development, you are results-oriented,
highly motivated and enjoy building and developing effective client
relationships. Extensive experience in public administration relating to
management and implementation of regional grant funding programs
and an understanding of the economic and social levers available to
government to improve outcomes for Latrobe Valley are desirable.
