• C Grade, Division 1
A DOMINANT display of bowling by MDU has
helped the Demons to a big win over Inverloch
in C Grade Division 1 at Inverloch Recreation
The visitors had no trouble defending 183, as
they ripped through the Stingrays’ batting line-
up which was bundled out for 76 in the 39th
Josh Williams provided some resistance with
31, but he had little support.
Jai Bright picked up 3/16 off eight overs and
Steve Riley cleaned up at the end with 4/2 off

Red Caps for 177 in the 57th over.
Brian Gannon hit 40 at the top of the or-
der and Chris Marinou made 60 including six
fours, but the Island bowlers proved too strong.
Jackson Sorati picked up 3/28 off 11 overs
to go with his century from last week, and Pete
Francis grabbed 2/12 off five overs.
A consistent batting effort saw Leongatha
Town easily account for Wonthaggi Club at
Scorpion Park Two.
Chasing 152, the Scorpions registered 7/258
off 52 overs, led by Craig McGannon (54 re-
tired), Marcus Kreutzberger (45 retired) and
Marcus Luscombe (41).

A BALMY Saturday evening, more than 100
people ventured out to Outtrim to witness the
first ever ladies Ten10 feature cricket match!
Wives, girlfriends, mums, sisters, daughters
and friends of OMK cricketers donned the
whites or maroons to play a friendly but com-
petitive game of cricket.
Ten overs a side, modified rules, suspect
bowling actions, incredible catches, and a lot of
laughs were among the features.

LUKE Borne proved to be the ultimate
match-winner for Wonthaggi Club against Glen
Alvie in C Grade Division Two at Glen Alvie.
After saving Club’s innings with 49 not out
last week, he backed it up with the ball, snar-
ing an impressive 5/15 off 18.2 overs includ-
ing eight maidens to help bowl Glen Alvie out
for 133 in reply to Club’s 146.
Incredibly, four of his five dismissals were
bowled and the other was a caught and bowled.
He was well supported by fellow opening
bowler Sean Roche, who picked up 4/31 off 18
overs including five maidens.
Jarrod Newsome (41) and David Hynes (39)
looked like winning the match for the home
side, but their demise saw them fall in a heap.
Leongatha Town’s James Dean and Luke
Kleinert both went agonisingly close to cen-
turies against Korumburra at the Leongatha
Dean was chasing quick runs and was un-
lucky to be run out on 99, after hitting 12
fours and three sixes.
Kleinert was left on 93 not out at the end of
play after belting 11 fours and four sixes.
Peter Hulshof also chipped in with 28 before
he retired hurt with a hamstring injury, as the
Scorpions posted 5/263 in reply to the Cobras’
Heath Grace (61 not out including 10 fours
and a six) and Joe Reilly (53 including five
fours and two sixes) led Kilcunda-Bass to a
comfortable win over Phillip Island.
The visitors reached 6/244 in reply to the
Island’s 162, with Stuart Cox leading the way
with the ball with 2/31 off eight overs.
OMK successfully chased down Poowong-
Loch’s 123 at Poowong, reaching 7/159.
George Lomagno led the way with 47 and
Donald Wylie made 38.
