THE South Gippsland Shire Council has
moved, reluctantly no doubt, to replace the po-
sition left vacant by highly regarded local gov-
ernment executive Jan Martin.
Among other things, Ms Martin is credited
with playing a crucial role in Korumburra get-
ting is fantastic new Karmai Community Chil-
dren’s Centre, as well as many other improved
family services around the district.
She resigned as a result of illness.
As a result, the shire is now looking for a new
‘Director Corporate and Community Services’,
a role that would carry a six-figure salary, de-
pending on level of experience.
“This executive leadership role is a dynamic
and challenging blend of strategic leadership
and operational management across the diverse
corporate and community services portfolio,”
the shire said in its advertisements last week.
