KORUMBURRA Water Babies has been running
water familiarisation and swim classes for infants
and pre-schoolers at the Korumburra Indoor pool
for the past 28 years.
Families are travelling from Foster, Inver-
loch, Wonthaggi, Grantville, Lang Lang, Nyora,
Poowong, Leongatha and everywhere in between
to participate in these classes.
All abilities and developments are catered for,
giving everyone the chance to enjoy the benefits
that water activity has to offer, whether it be to
build the love of water that creates the aspirations
of becoming a future Olympian or water safety
skills to just enjoy our many aquatic environments
that South Gippsland has to offer.
Classes run Monday to Thursday mornings,
and cater for:
• Infants aged from 6 months to 31⁄2 years
old. Classes are conducted in a group setting
with no more than 8 children participating with
• Children aged between 31⁄2 years and
School Age participate in groups of up to 4 chil-
dren per instructor.
Group swimming class work well for children
as they learn a lot by observation. They also
gain new opportunities to develop social skills
in a fun environment.
Parents and instructors may know a child has
the ability to perform a skill, it’s another thing for
the child to feel it for themselves.
Korumburra Water Babies give pre-schoolers
and infant/caregiver the guidance, encouragement
and confidence to challenge their own develop-
ment in a group setting.
It’s very rewarding for the instructors to see not
only the child but parents celebrating the child’s
achievements. All instructors are Austswim quali-
fied. Water Safety and Rescue skills are integrated
into every class which are delivered in a fun and
encouraging environment so children learn to love
and respect the water.
Enrolments are now being taken for Term 1. For
bookings and enquiries contact Kaye via phone on

For confidence and safety in water
Providing children from South Gippsland, and their parents, with the confidence and
skills to be safe in water has been a labour of love for Korumburra Water Babies for 28 years.
‘Toys from the Dollhouse’ was one of the themes of the end of year concerts by Bass Coast
Ballet School recently.
Impressionist painter, Edgar Degas, was the inspiration for a featured piece in the end
of year concerts by Bass Coast Ballet School.
